Inspirational Rocks
Need a last minute gift idea? Whip up a couple of these and you are set. They make great gifts for everyone of all ages, and are easliy personlized. You can write names, numbers, words, or even put pictures on them. Best of all they are fun for the whole family to make. I made these with my husband and 2 girls ages 2 and 3. They are a simple but personal gift anyone would love!
Materials:
* Acrylic paint or sharpie marker
* Crayons, this project is perfect for the broken ones
* Rocks
* Sealer, I used Mod Podge
* Baking Sheet
Instructions:
Perheat oven to 250 degrees, while you wait find rocks. When oven is perheated place rocks on baking sheet and cook for 15 to 20 mins. Then place rocks on a cool plate to decorate with crayons. Rocks will be hot so make sure little ones don't touch the rocks. Let rocks dry. Whne they are dry, you can put a word on them or whatever you choose. Let paint dry and then coat with sealer. All finished enjoy!

Hand Warmers
Tis the season for colder weather and the time of year to think about gifts ( if you haven't already) right??? These little hand warmers can be used by any gender and any age. The best part is it only takes about 10-20 minutes depending on how your sewing skills are and if your children let you complete it un-interrupted. Everything used is something that you should have lying around the house so there is no cost involved.
Materials:
Any scrap fabric you have lying around the house doesn't even have to match. ( 4 pieces any size)
Hand sewing needle
Thread
Rice or dry corn
Paper plate, funnel, or paper ( for getting the rice in the warmer)
Instructions:
1. Place 2 pieces of fabric together and do a stitch (we prefer the blanket stitch) around all the sides making sure to leave a big enough hole to fill your warmer with rice.
2. Using either a paper plate or a funnel of some kind pour your rice into the hole of your warmer.
3. Once desired amount of rice is inside, simply stitch the hole to complete your closure.
So there you have it, a simple home-made, eco-friendly hand warmer.
